Second Album

It's been too long since we've updated our website but we just want you to know that we have been working diligently on our second album. This time around, we feel more confident with the songwriting process and are having a ton of fun working together again. Our tentative plans are to start recording our second album in March of 2009. In the meantime, we will be adding shows to test out the new material in winter/spring of 2009. Keep checking back here for more information! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Reel Jem's music debuted on internet radio on Sept. 30th! The show is Pooch's Corner and you can check it out at www.poochscorner.com. Click on the link for the 9-30-07 show and you'll hear "For Real", which is about 23 minutes into the show, right after the sports announcements. Pooch's Corner is a hot new internet show for unsigned and independent artists. It's hosted by an old friend of Monica Leigh's, Chris Puchmelter, and it will only continue to get even bigger! Updated CD Release Show Details

Friday, June 1st @ Silvie's Lounge (1902 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago). Reel Jem will take the stage at about 9 p.m. and will play for roughly an hour or so. We will stick around all night long signing copies of our new CD! Admission is $5 and the event is for those 21 and up.
Please contact us by Friday, May 11th at reel.jem@gmail.com if you are interested in using the RJ bus transportation service. Parking is notoriously terrible in that neighborhood, especially on weekends so we wanted to make it easier for all of you to make it up to the show.
Oh yeah, don't forget to get dressed up for the cameras!

FINALLY we have a release date! Friday, June 1st, 2007 is when our debut album entitled "For Real" will be released. CD release party is set for June 1st at 8pm at Silvie's Lounge. Look for details in Shows section. We're so excited and can't wait to release this album!

Happy New Year!!!
We wanted to update you all on the current status of Reel Jem. The new lineup is Monica Leigh-lead vocals, Renee S.-keyboards/guitar/backup vocals and Mike DeMars-bass. We're still looking for a drummer at this time so, if you are interested, please contact us via the contact section of this site. In the meantime, we've got some acoustic coffee house shows coming up in 2007. Check our shows page for details.
The debut album has been mastered in Nashville at Yes Master Studios and its tracks are almost ready to be on Myspace. Most likely it will be sometime in February that the new tracks will be up. The cover and packaging of the CDs is next on the list of things to do. We'll keep you updated!
